Platelet-Rich Plasma in Hoover, AL

PRP in dentistry uses a patient's own concentrated platelets to speed up healing, reduce inflammation, and promote tissue regeneration. At Koslin & Kahn Oral & Facial Surgery, we provide advanced treatments to help you recover quickly and restore your oral health. Contact us in Hoover, Jasper, or Clanton, AL today to learn more about how PRP can benefit your treatment.

PRP treatment starts with a simple blood draw, similar to a routine blood test. The sample is then placed in a centrifuge, where it spins rapidly to separate the platelets from the other components of the blood. The resulting platelet-rich plasma, packed with growth factors, is collected and prepared for use. In dental procedures, PRP is applied directly to surgical sites or areas in need of repair, helping to accelerate healing, reduce inflammation, and support tissue regeneration.

PRP therapy in dentistry provides several advantages that accelerate healing and improve overall treatment results. These benefits include:

  • Faster recovery following surgical procedures
  • Reduced inflammation and discomfort
  • Enhanced natural tissue regeneration
  • Lowered risk of infection
  • Safe and biocompatible, using the patient's own blood

Is PRP the same as stem cell therapy?

PRP and stem cell therapy are not the same. PRP uses your own blood platelets to promote healing, whereas stem cell therapy involves different types of regenerative cells.

How often can PRP be used?

PRP can be used whenever needed during qualifying dental procedures, with no known limit when administered properly.

Is there a difference between PRP and PRF?

PRP and PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) are not the same. PRF is a newer preparation that forms a clot-like matrix and releases growth factors more gradually over time, whereas PRP is a well-established, fast-acting solution that delivers concentrated growth factors to the treatment site, helping accelerate tissue repair.

At Koslin & Kahn Oral & Facial Surgery, we use PRP in regenerative dentistry to promote healing and improve treatment outcomes. Reach out to us at any of our Hoover, Jasper, or Clanton, AL locations to learn more about how PRP can support your oral health and help you recover faster.
