How Is Pre-Prosthetic Surgery Performed?

Pre-prosthetic surgery is customized to address your specific needs. At Koslin & Kahn Oral & Facial Surgery, we begin by evaluating your jaw and utilizing advanced imaging to guide the treatment planning and procedure stages. We will discuss sedation and anesthesia options to ensure you are relaxed and comfortable throughout the process. The treatment may involve procedures such as bone and gum reduction, bone grafting, tooth extractions, or other minor oral surgeries. If necessary, sutures will be placed to protect the surgical areas during healing. We will provide a detailed treatment plan to ensure you understand each step of the process.

Pre-prosthetic surgery provides numerous benefits to improve the fit and comfort of dentures. Additional advantages include:

  • Increased denture stability
  • Improved comfort by smoothing uneven bone
  • Reduced risk of sores and irritation from dentures
  • Enhanced ability to chew and speak
  • Preparation of the jawbone for long-term denture use

Great experience all around from the front office to the surgeon & his staff. Pleasant conversation, professional, kind & funny even while extracting my tooth. Highly recommend Dr. Bannon & his staff.

I came in with severe pain and the staff was so nice and understanding. I am terrified of dentists but not with them. I did have to have a tooth extracted and for once I was not scared of the procedure and even during the procedure. They were able to do it quickly on the same day and kept me feeling comfortable. Would give more than 5 stars if I could!

Dr. Denson was great! He went out of his way to accommodate me on short notice, explained the procedure thoroughly, and answered all my questions patiently. The procedure was much quicker and easier than I had anticipated. I was in and out in about 35 minutes. No problems since. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
